BSEN1279
On The 1st of March 2007 a new glazing standard known as BSEN1279 became mandatory across all European member states. The previous British Standard,BS 5713 had been optional but when BSEN1279 came into force the compliance became COMPULSORY. Also from September 1st 2006 Document ‘N ‘ the Building Regulations standard for safety glazing was amended to harmonise the European standards. BS6206 became obsolete and new European Standards were drawn up these are as follows

THIS STANDARD IS NOW LEGALLY BINDING FOR ALL BUILDING REGULATIONS
Here at Blenkin Products Ltd all our double glazed units conform to BSEN1279 and our safety glass conforms to Document ‘N’. We have been awarded the CENSOLUTIONS CMS mark for the production of quality double glazed units. The CMS Mark is the equivalent of the BSI Kite mark and The Q Mark. To complywith all EN Standards Rules it is the responsibility of our self here as the manufacturer of double glazed units to maintain a Quality Control System this includes testing our sealants adhesion quality & temperature twice daily. The desiccant which prevents condensation is also tested twice daily. Other tests such as calibrations are also routinely adhered to. Regular Periodic tests by a recognised testing body are carried out. These audits are conducted every six months they include the auditing of the written Quality System. A compulsory sample test is also carried out on 8 units which are taken from production. These include UV fogging tests on 3 units, then on the other 5 units, climatic tests, initial moisture content tests & final moisture content tests are also carried out.We are proud that our test results for units and quality control average at well over 93%
